The Permadactyl is a large bird, and the character associated with the monster holiday Doo Doo Day. She first appears in the episode "Doo Doo Doomsday."
Personality[]
The Permadactyl appears every year on Doo Doo Day, distributing multi-colored eggs to monsters who compliment her and make her feel welcome when she visits. However, if the monsters don't appreciate their gifts, she will go on a rampage and target the people who didn't like their gifts, much to her dismay. Armand implies that she is easily angered, and has destroyed entire suburbs (and other places) while angry.
Powers and abilities[]
Like most birds, she has the ability to fly and lay eggs (which, when opened, contain gifts that the receiver wished for, even gifts bigger than the egg itself). When angered, she gains the ability to light up in blue flames, as well as the ability to fire globs of bird poop with the force similar to a mortar. She is also strong enough to rip the roof off of a building. According to Armand, she has leveled entire suburbs when angry.
Appearance[]
The Permadactyl is a large bird, with purple feathers covering her body, turquoise feathers covering her head, and purple and red-violet tail feathers. She has an orange warty beak (filled with teeth, which is unusual for a bird), a yellow iris in her left eye, and a long red-violet mullet. For clothing, she wears an blue unbuttoned denim vest with gold buttons and a pocket.
Role in episode[]
While Camp Lakebottom are celebrating Doo Doo Day, the Permadactyl arrives and sits in the nest the campers made for her. After being fed by Rosebud and being complimented, she lays an egg for every camper. However, McGee hates his gift (a sweater) much to her humiliation, making the Permadactyl go on a rampage, launching globs of bird poop everywhere to try and hit McGee.
McGee realises his mistake and tries to stop her by wearing his sweater, but is hit by a glob of poop, which is deflected due to the sweater's poop-proof powers. Due to this, he then realises the true meaning of Doo Doo Day, which calms the Permadactyl, much to the camper's joy. She is confused by rosebud.
Trivia[]
- Her name is a portmanteau of "perm," a type of hairstyle, and "pterodactyl," due to her large size.
- She can be seen as a monster version of Santa Claus, due to her gift giving, the food she likes, and the fact her holiday is about being grateful, and not about receiving gifts which explains her attitude.
- She is one of those who resembles the real bird, Pelagornis, as well as resembling the Monster mail bird in the later episode Nanny Num Nums
- Funnily enough, one of the objects Sawyer sees through his telescope when looking for the Permadactyl is Santa Claus.
